As I swim regularly in this great local lido that just happens to be 100 yards long (91.44 metres) I couldn’t help noticing the signs for ‘Swim Trek’ up near the entrance. Being net savvy I popped online to see what that was all about as it combines a few of my loves, and came up with this.

It seems that this lovely bunch of mermaids and mermen are willing to take any swimming enthusiast out to gorgeous stretches of open water around the world and take you open water swimming. I’ll leave you to have a wander around the website but personally I think that’s one of the most original travel ideas I have seen in a long time.

If I wasn’t off in October for 6 months I might have considered going with them, next year perhaps…
