I have just heard that BT has bought out many of T-Mobiles wifi hotspots with the aim of keeping the prices high. Not a very enlightened approach to giving access to mobile computing…
Compare this with Hong Kong that has a government sponsored network of wifi hotspots that allow you to connect whilst on the hoof, at airports, libraries etc and the UK looks more like the technological luddite that it is.
What amazes me is that we were promised all sorts of new shiny networks a few years ago and none of them seem to have materialised, so the idea of moving your workplace at will is a dream compared with some of the more enlightened cities in the US.
Sort it out.
